The Indian government has in fact established, since 2015, an electronic visa delivery system, in order to facilitate access for people to Indian territory via multiple entry points (by sea or air). The India e-visa allows <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.evisa.net.in\/en\/eligible\/\">eligible nationalities<\/a><\/strong> to stay in India for a specific period, depending on the type of visa envisaged.<\/p>\n<h2>The validity period of the e-visa for India changes depending on the type of visa desired<\/h2>\n<p>The e-visa for India allows you to make tourist stays, business trips, medical stays, but can also be used to attend conferences. Depending on the reason for your stay in India, you will need to choose the corresponding type of India e-visa. Depending on the India e-visa chosen, its validity period will not be the same. The validity period of an India e-visa corresponds to the period during which you can use your electronic visa from its date of issue.<\/p>\n<p>The validity period of an India e-visa differs depending on the form in which it is available. You can choose between the<strong>Tourism e-visa<\/strong>, L&#039;<strong>Business e-visa<\/strong>, L&#039;<strong>Medical e-visa<\/strong> and the<strong>e-visa Conference<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The Tourism e-visa is the most popular India e-visa. It will allow you to make tourist visits to India on the basis of a <strong>single entry or several entries<\/strong>, depending on its period of validity. The Tourism e-visa can be valid for <strong>30 days, 1 year or 5 years<\/strong> from the date of issue. If you opt for an India e-visa valid for 1 year or 5 years, you will not be able to stay in India for more than 90 days at a time.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The Business e-visa will allow you to make several business trips to India, for a total duration of <strong>180 days<\/strong>. It is valid for 1 year from the date of issue.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The Medical e-visa allows patients and accompanying persons up to <strong>3 entries into India<\/strong>, for a total stay of up to <strong>60 cumulative days<\/strong>. Its <strong>validity period<\/strong> is 4 months<\/strong> from the date of issue.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Finally, the Conference e-visa allows a single entry into India for a <strong>stay of up to 30 days.<\/strong> It is also valid for <strong>4 months from the date of issue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Can the validity period of an e-visa in India be extended?<\/h2>\n<p>It is not possible to extend the validity period of an India e-visa on site, regardless of the type of India e-visa you have in your possession. The only way to extend your stay in India is to leave Indian territory and apply for a new India e-visa. It is generally recommended to go to a border country, such as Nepal or Sri Lanka, to apply for a new visa for India.
