You have decided to organize a trip to India, something you have dreamed of for a long time. But did you know that you necessarily need a visa? You can request one from the Indian embassy in France, of course, but if you want to make the process easier, it is also possible to go through the Internet. You can fill and download the application form online directly from the official website of the Government of India.

So go to the dedicated Indian government website. Once on the home page, you must click on the orange button saying “ Regular Visa Application " either " Regular Visa Application ". This part includes all questions regarding general information about your trip:

Once this category is completed, you move on to the next step.

This part concerns all your personal information. You will be asked for details about yourself and your passport. This is a relatively simple step, but be sure to write down your first and last names as they are written in your passport.

This part is quite similar to the previous part but is more detailed. Here, you must provide information about your parents (their last name, first name, nationality, place and date of birth in particular).

You are also asked to provide a telephone number. Although this is not required, it can be highly recommended to be able to reach you easily. Additionally, it may prevent you from taking the next step. It is at this stage that you give all the information about the visa you want: type of visa, number of planned entries into the country, purpose of the visit, etc..

You will also be asked for a great deal of information, particularly if you have already applied for a visa before (which was accepted). What's more, you have to fill in all the countries you have travelled to in the last 10 years.

You must also specify whether you have traveled to any or all of the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) countries in the last 3 years.

Finally, you must specify the contact details of your reference people in India.

The final step of the application is to upload a color photo in 5 x 5 cm format. Once this is done, you have access to the list of all the information you provided to make your request. So you need to check everything carefully.

Once the submission is completed, you must print it and sign it in two places: on the first page, under your photo and on the last page, where indicated (the lower right corner). You must then send the application to the Indian consulate.

You've decided to plan a trip to India, something you've been dreaming of for a long time.
