India is a colorful country that baffles anyone who dares to visit it. Both rich and poor, very traditional and modern, India profoundly changes all its visitors. Are you planning to organize a tourist trip to India? So here are some tips for organizing your vacation well but also on the unmissable places to see in India.

India, a vast country

As big as a continent, the country is teeming with a thousand things to do and see. India juggles modernity with ancestral traditions. While major metropolises such as New Delhi and Mumbai have adopted a more Western way of life, some more remote and isolated places continue to observe a typically Indian rhythm of life.

Take advantage of your stay to go on a spiritual retreat or to do a yoga “course”, emblematic of India 🧘‍♂️. You will come out purified and serene!

But India is also home to must-see monuments like the Taj Mahal. Located in the Utar Pradesh region, it is the country's most famous monument. This mausoleum to the glory of an emperor's wife stands 73 metres high and is built entirely of white marble. This architectural marvel continues to enchant tourists, and has done so for years.

The Ganges, India's mythical river, sees millions of Indians bathe in it every year. It's even a must-see. So why shouldn't you? And to dry off, there's nothing better than lounging on the famous steps of the town of Vârâsanî, right on the banks of the river.

Before leaving

To properly prepare your trip to India, you must first of all plan an itinerary but above all follow it! India can quickly make you lose your mind. Also, don’t forget to set a budget before you leave.

You can fly from France (from Paris) and be in India ten hours later. Book your flight well in advance to avoid any nasty surprises. early booking has been tried and tested for a long time.

No vaccinations are compulsory for travelling to India but it is nevertheless advisable to get vaccinated against hepatitis A. It takes three weeks for it to become really active. The yellow fever vaccine is only compulsory if you have travelled to a Central African country in the 6 months preceding your visit to India.

Think about your visa!

It is essential to apply for a visa to visit India. The Indian Embassy can issue you with a tourist visa, which remains valid for 90 days and allows you two entries onto Indian soil throughout its period of validity.

You can also request an electronic visa or e-visa. This greatly simplifies the process. It is entirely possible to stay for 60 days in a row in the country with the e-visa. Remember to make your request at least ten days before your departure to be sure to receive your document on time.

To apply for an e-visa, it's simple: simply fill out an online form and scan your color ID photo, in JPG format. This is very important because if the format of the photo does not comply, your request may be refused without further ado by the Indian authorities. Applying for an e-visa online will cost you between 24 € And 76 € consular fees.

There are sites and agencies that can make the formalities even easier for you. All you have to do is send them a copy of your passport and a few other supporting documents (photo, etc.), and the agency will then take care of validating your application with the Indian authorities for an additional service fee. Once your application has been validated, the agency will send you your visa by e-mail. You then need to print it out and present it as soon as you arrive in India.
