What are the deadlines for obtaining an e-visa for India?

To travel to India, it is essential today to have a valid visa. It is possible to apply for a traditional visa at an embassy, but there is also a simplified and faster method. From now on, you can apply for a visa directly via the Internet. It's called the e-Visa. Is this process really simpler? What are the deadlines for obtaining an e-Visa for India?

Simply apply for your e-Visa!

To apply for an electronic visa or e-Visa, simply go to the official portal set up by the Indian authorities and let yourself be guided to complete the form. Since March 2019, the Indian electronic visa has evolved. In fact, the application is now simplified, especially for tourist visas and business visas.

The request must be made in English (although some sites offer the form in French). If you do not feel comfortable with this language or are afraid of not being able to fill out the form correctly, it is possible to contact an agency. For a few extra euros, the agency takes care of making the request for you and becomes the intermediary between you and the Indian authorities.

Today you have the opportunity to apply for an e-Visa allowing multiple entries into Indian territory (without restriction). There are different validity periods for the e-Visa for India: 30 days, one year or 5 years (instead of the 60 days of validity possible until the beginning of 2019). This e-visa allows you to visit protected areas like Sikkim, for example.

Thanks to the online application on the Internet, it is possible to obtain an e-Visa in less than a week. On average, allow a maximum of 4 days between validation of the request and receipt, by email, of your e-Visa. It's also quick if you take advantage of the services of a specialized agency.
